PIHMS enjoyed hosting 38 prospective students from all over New Zealand at a Career Week during the second week of the school holidays.
新西兰太平洋国际酒店管理学校（PIHMS）假期的第二周是职业规划周，那时来自新西兰各地可能报名入学的学生齐聚在学校。
The attendees all stayed in the student accommodation on-campus and were given the opportunity to experience what it is like to live and study at PIHMS. PIHMS offers a highly practical learning environment and the attendees experienced this with shifts in the kitchen and restaurant.
所有参加者都被安排在校内的学生公寓，并有机会体验生活、学习在太平洋新西兰酒店管理学院的真实感受。太平洋新西兰酒店管理学院极其实用的学习环境，参加者通过在厨房和酒店里的真实体验工作感受这一切。
Staff were really impressed that some of the attendees even managed to carry three plates to the tables and were really professional in their demeanour.
教师们很惊奇的发现一些参加的同学甚至能一次端三个盘子到餐桌上，风度翩翩而且非常专业。
Attendees also spent time in the Housekeeping Department learning the correct way to make a bed, folding sheets in the laundry and taking turns on the floor polisher. This is harder than it looks and there was much laughter as attendees chased the floor polisher around the squash court.
参加者也会花时间在客房部学习怎样正确的整理床铺，在洗衣室折叠床单，轮流檫地板。这远远比它看起来要困难。当参加者被拖地机拉着在壁球场跑时，大家都捧腹大笑起来。
Career Week attendees were also given a tour of New Plymouth which included a stop at the best ice-cream shop in town, a jaunt on the coastal walkway and a run down the giant sand dunes at Back Beach, where the Women's World Surf Champs were being held. On the Thursday, they also got their first glimpse of Mt Taranaki which had been hidden behind cloud in the earlier part of the week.
职业规划周的参加者也被邀请在新普利毛刺游玩，这包括在品尝镇上最好的冰激凌店，海岸走道上的短暂游览，一起去后滩上巨型沙滩在上游玩，正是在沙滩上世界女子冲浪冠军赛在这举办。在这个周四，他们第一次看见了这周前几天一直被云覆盖的塔拉那基山。
PIHMS is looking forward to seeing many of the Career Week attendees back at the school as many have already indicated they are going to enroll.
